10 miles and a blister …….Life is good

Yee Haaaaaaaaaah —Got my first battle scar. Racked up a little more than 10 miles today and got my very first blister. Yup, on the tip of my middle toe. It’s small , but it still counts.

Either I’m rolling from heel to toes really well now ( as in proper racewalking technique ) OR it’s the new socks I wore today without first washing them OR it could be that my feet were sweating more than usual OR all the above. I don’t think its the mileage because Ive done plenty of long walks and never had a blister before. Hmmm …who knows what caused it, but it’s about time–I’m so proud of myself.

I’m such a jock now.

My other jock stats for today:

Distance 10.3miles
Avg Pace 14.10 ( this is tempo for me)
Max Pace 5.23 ( lasted a whopping 12 seconds)
Total time 2:23 ( at this rate I’ll barely make a sub 3 hour for the next race)
Calories burned 2341 ( I wish I could burn this everyday)

Congratulations! Enjoy the pain–it brings a certain satisfaction, doesn’t it, like Clark Kent must have felt knowing he had that big secret S on his chest under that shirt and tie.

    Take care!

Isn’t it funny how “earning” a blister makes your feel good? If feeling good starts to change into ongoing blisters, I use Blistershield powder. It’s awesome – I never get a blister when I use it.

    Happy walking!

Boy, does our perspective change when we walk! Blisters, once an annoyance, are now a marker for achievement. You are the man Steve!
