New aches and pains.

Seems that the quest for improved walking efficiency has brought with it some new aches and pains. Yesterday’s walk included a little more racewalking technique than it usually does. I focused primarily on knee straightening , foot rolling and to a lesser degree, hip rotation.

Not surprisingly, today my ankle and lower back are quite sore. I wore a flatter shoe for yesterday’s work out( Asics Kayano Pro walker IIs) maybe that had something to do with it. Normally for my slower, longer walks , I wear a more cushioned running shoe like NB 766. The heal is a full inch thicker than my walking flats.

Doesn’t look like I’ll be doing any walking today, even though Sunday is my favorite day for it. I like Sunday walks because there are usually lots of other people doing the same thing ,so its easy to blend in.
